Hunger Fighter
I'd like to share with you the recipe I use for Granola...well
known in Canada and America, Granola for those of you who don't know is a homemade cereal....It's full of yummy
goodies to fill you up on those cold frosty Scottish Mornings and stave off the cold ...and the hunger
pangs.
It is very easy to make and will keep in an airtight tin for a couple of weeks, you can also freeze
it should you wish to make a bulk lot...
Read on for the recipe...
Ingredients
5 cups of rolled oats
2 cups of shredded coconut
1 cup of pecan or hazelnuts or a combinaton of both
1 cup of slivered almonds
1/2 cup of runny honey
3/4 cup vegatable oil
1 cup sultanas
1/2 cup of dates or apricots
HOW TO DO IT ....
Place all the dry ingredients in a large roasting tin and give it a good mix
round....
combine the honey and the oil together
then pour onto the mixture in the roasting tin...
mix well and place in the oven at 375OF for 35-45 minutes stirring regularly
until golden brown and the syrup and oil has been absorbed...
